Chain to Main News for Friday, May 15th

With your local Waupaca news for this Friday, May 15th, I'm Durant Popple.

The Waupaca County suicide prevention coalition will be hosting the 10th annual walk in hope walk in memory tomorrow.  This annual Run/Walk fundraising event brings people together to honor loved ones, support one another, and raise awareness that no one is alone.  The event will begin at Swan Park, check in and registration is available starting at 9.  There will be a guest speaker starting at 10, then the walk will start immediately after the speaker.  You can learn more about this group or their mission on their website, Waupaca dash saves dot org.

The Waupaca High School Robotics Team is doing a Brat Fry tomorrow to kick off their 2026-2027 Tournament season. They will start serving at 11am and running until 2pm or until they run out of food.  This will be located at 426 Wisconsin Street in Waupaca.  There will be hot dogs, brats, and pulled pork sandwiches, available in a meal, served with a bottle of water and choice of chips, or food and be purchased individually.

The Waupaca farmers market will be starting up again starting tomorrow.  This will be typically taking place on the city square, each Saturday through October, 9am until 1. There is now also a matching program for SNAP, Senior and WIC FMNP checks so you could get double the usual fruits and vegetables.  Throughout the year, vendors may change and events including live music may also be ongoing during the market.  You can keep up to date with information from their Facebook page.
